John 17: 2
” For You granted Him authority…….
over all people that He might give eternal life to all those you have given Him. ”

Think of JESUS CHRIST…..where He started…..on the throne.
Stepping off to enter the world….as a babe.
Then His life on earth, each step, each person, each trial…each day…each encounter…
all the way unto the CROSS.

Who asked Him to do that ?       GOD
What did God ask Him to do on earth ?    Die on the Cross , Rise again…….( other things too )

In what God asked Him to do…..He gave Him what ?   __________ AUTHORITY.

” for YOU granted HIM AUTHORITY “………

His authority came from God alone…
To do what He wanted Him to do…
To do it with, who HE wanted Him to do it with…..

All the way to the cross,  tempted….
All the way to the cross, attacked….scorned, gone against,
All the way to the cross, many to heal, to cast out demons, to witness to , to save….

And in each one….HE had authority…..HE is JESUS CHRIST…
HE stayed on the PATH…of what God had given HIM…
HE stayed with the ones….GOD had given HIM….
and in that obedience……HE HAD AUTHORITY……

We are to be CHRIST LIKE……

A.  Who has God given YOU ?
John 17 : 9
” I pray for them, I am not praying for the world, but for those you
have given me, for they are yours. ”
( at this point He is not praying for the world…this prayer is for 2 things :
1. Disciples protection
2.  their setting apart to do the will of God

The ONES GOD HAS GIVEN US….are we truly praying for them spiritually…
Are we helping them spiritually to be set apart….

A.  Who has God given you, today, this year, this week ?

B.  Are you on the path God has called you to be on ?
In this case, how did JESUS know HE was ?  HE had authority…..
He had the anointing, the favor of HIS FATHER….. why ?
Because it was in line with Gods’ DIVINE PLAN for HIS LIFE.

How many times do you hear people say ….
I don’t know what God wants me to do right now…
I don’t know if I am where God wants me to be…..

Do you see His authority in what you are doing ?
Do you see His favor, His strength, His hand giving you authority….?

It was to the disciples that JESUS was praying…
It was to the small number that He poured His life…..
” who God had given HIM “……

Do you ever see Jesus asking for more than who God gave Him ?
In that , HE had all authority of those……
I know this can go many different ways, what ever…
but God is putting this deep in me….

a. if I am on HIS PATH…..all the temptations, I will have authority over
If I am on HIS PAHT…..HE will clear it, HE will protect me on it…HE will bless it.

b.  If I minister to THOSE HE HAS GIVEN ME …to the fullest….
That is where my biggest spiritual impact will be.
That is where HE will expand HIS KINGDOM, the way that HE intends…
and in such an incredible way…” THEY WILL KNOW THAT HE IS GOD ”

The fruit…..will be on that path…
The fruit …will be with those people……
It only took a small number that GOD gave JESUS, His disciples…
But because it was THE ONES God gave HIM….and HE took it spiritually serious.

It changed the world for HIS GLORY…
We can change the world for HIS GLORY…with who HE gives us…
and where HE has us….on HIS PATH….

Because of HIM alone…outside of that…..the impact is small, the authority is only flesh authority…
and that has very little spiritual reproduction.
