I know this sounds ODD…but it never left my mind:
I can not tell you how many times I took my Mom shopping for dresses.
Dresses for weddings, outfits for vacation, outfits for outfits…
and every time…..looking for how the arms were made to ” HIDE HER ARMS”
Tonite, 6 yrs. ago….. I spent the nite….sitting in a chair…
laying over on my Mothers’ bed….keeping my hand in the bend of my Moms’ arms.
Keeping it there….never wanting the warmth to go out of her body….
Keeping it there….knowing that soon I would not be that near her again in my life.
The touch of my Mother’s arms….that moment is etched in my mind, etched in my heart….
The thot of how much she tried to ” HIDE her arms…”
Today, I know I have her arms…her ~ ” fat arms”…that she tried to hide…
I refuse to “cover up” …I LOVE to wear tank tops…cut off sleeves..what ever…
and for some sense….” wear my Mother’s arms proudly” ….
The mindset of the world….” she should wear sleeves at her age….yuk….cover that flab up”
The mindset of a daughter….” I would give anything to see her arms again…feel the warmth”
Take her shopping and beg her…. just be yourself Mom….who cares…
I am so thankful for my Mom….who tried to cover up her arms…
NEVER….NEVER….NEVER tried to cover up her relationship with JESUS CHRIST.
Today talking with Benson from Liavo/Kenya….
” Mum….how will you commemorate her life tomorrow ?”
I could not speak…..through the tears I said,
” I will pray and thank the LORD again, for her salvation…..
I will only pray and thank the LORD for her salvation…
and then I will try to live my life in a way that will honor her
and worship Him. ”
That is all….how can you celebrate someone that showed you JESUS CHRIST, seriously ?
Balloons ~ not enough
Cake and Candles ~ don’t think so
a get together ~ with humans….?
when what she gave all of our family….our sons….each one of us…was JESUS CHRIST ?
for that we can only worship who she loved all the more.
Sept. 14th ~ approx. 10: 30 a.m. ~ ” HER FAITH BECAME SIGHT”
Thank YOU JESUS for Marilyn Conrad’s SALVATION……….thank YOU JESUS.
I love you, Grandma Marilyn. We miss you! I’m reading a book to the girls at night, and we have a picture of Grandma at the beach house as our bookmark. Can’t wait to see her again.
