I haven’t coached for a long time……
Coaching Cheerleading for 10 yrs….. it gets in your blood , working with kids… etc.

Gabe & Marla went to Minnesota for the weekend, to speak at a retreat…
The man who would step in for Gabe, was out of town too !
That left ~  ” GRANDMA ! ” ……

We got there……….
I am terrible with remembering names…..Ava made me out a diagram of girls…
Where their strengths were to play, their names…etc.
Beside their names…. I would right,  blonde,  …etc.

Huddled up….talked to them….and off we go into ” coaching”….
Not….. Since 1997 …..??
In Columbus, not knowing….the girls…the parents…what in the world….

But, as soon as the whistle blew….
It was like riding a bike….subbing the ones to positions that you could
tell they were better at….subbing the ” winded”….
looking at them….” if you don’t run, you’ll have to go back on defense”…..
and so went the game….” Ava was quite the assistant , on the field ! ” smile
( she scored a goal…went back on defense at the end… we won 2 – 1 )

But  ~  Think of GOD…..
on our SIDELINE…..seeing our ” weakness”….putting us where our strengths are…
letting us “get a drink and breathe”  , when we NEED IT…
encouraging us when we come off the field….
Giving us a HUG…..when we haven’t ” fellowshipped w/ Him in  awhile”
Being pleased with us when we  ” hit the net”….
Putting us on a team that we can work together ~  “in victory”

Thanx Gabe, for even having faith that I ” still had it in me”  , smile…
it took me back to a love that I forgot I had….” coaching “….
it took me out of ” reality”  for 50 minutes…..

end huddle…” Girls what did we do well tonite”
” we really worked”
” we ran hard”
” we won”……………………….

YOU today….have a position you ” do well”……………..for HIS KINGDOM…..

Banner addition :   Nina Scored 4 goals…” God love her”…. Livi won that nite too…

Sat. morning – to Morgan’s Birthday Soccer game…..4 on shots at goal….missed by a foot…
1 minute to go…..she shoots  …SHE SCORES… Livi, Ava, Nina, Reesey, Tanner and Mom and
Grandma goes wild…she runs to the sideline…. HIGH 5……..  a ” God moment”  for us all..

thank YOU JESUS , for this time w/ our   GRAND..kids…..before Africa….amen !
