This has been on my mind alot lately….Then Beth Paschal wrote about :

Contentment

The Lack of Contentment

My brother and I have been taking care of our Dad….
7:30  / 11: 30 / 5: 30 / 9:00….. and on call……
( Beth is LIVING….in it ) …..taking care of her grandparents, seriously……

Somedays it feels like someone is plowing the field in LOW……
If you have ever ridden on a tractor going that slow…..you know…
The field looks like it will go til California…..( but it isn’t ) smile.

Having been here…..taking care of our Mom….
I know this is a season…..
So, the question is :  ” will I be content ? ”
will I try to “wander in my mind “…..what if, should I…can I ….
will I try to manipulate God…..” really, now ?  when ? what ? how ?”
will I murmur and complain
will I let discontent set up shop ?

Fine line……it really isn’t where I would ” choose to be ”
it really isn’t where I thot I would be , 6 weeks out from Africa….

but it is , where GOD knew,  I would be.
but it is,  the day  the LORD has made for me, for my Dad…for Beth, for her Grandparents.

What does the lack of contentment say about our trust in God ?
What does the lack of contentment say about our character, within ourselves ?
What does the lack of contentment breed ….to those God has given in our radiance of influence today  ?
What does the lack of contentment do to our future ?  He who is faithful in little things ?

( we can’t even trust someone else to order our pizza , for fear they won’t get what  WE want )   smile.

So,  I choose :  CONTENTMENT

in choosing contentment :   I CHOOSE GOD.

perfect by no means….

seriously…but God HIMSELF….has been embedding this in the depth of my soul.

He gives me  serious…glimpses… of my hearts desire to where I cry…..” in the midst of where HE HAS ME”
It has been like HE parted the clouds, in that day, where I am at….and whispers….

” I KNOW”…….” I KNOW “……just take care of your DAD ~  today.
” I KNOW BETH….I KNOW” …just take care of your Grandparents ~  today.

I know the plans I have for you…..plans to prosper you and NOT TO HARM YOU….

If we are content with HIS PLANS right now, our lives today…we are CONTENT IN OUR GOD.
